A calf was born. His condition started deteriorating after just two days. The cattle rearer noticed that the calf had no anus at its birth. The animal keeper took the calf to the veterinary surgeon. Veterinary surgeon Dr. Viram Varshney performed surgery on the calf and saved its life.
Aligarh’s veterinary surgeon Dr. Viram Varshney successfully diagnosed the problem of atresia ani in a five-day-old calf of Sonu, resident of Nagla Dalchand. Animal owner Sonu told that a calf was born. When two days passed, they saw that the calf was repeatedly pushing towards the anus. It seemed as if he had to defecate. When they lifted its tail and looked at it, they were surprised to find that it had no anus. The calf was getting very upset and her stomach was also bloated. He was shown many places for treatment, but to no avail.
The cattle rearer took the calf to Dr. Viram Varshney. Dr. Viram Varshney, after two hours of hard work, made the calf pass stool through surgery and immediately after the surgery, the calf started defecating. Due to which the life of the calf was saved. Dr. Viram Varshney said that if it is not treated, it could lead to stomach upset, intestinal infection and even death. Atresia ani occurs during fetal development, when the anal opening does not form properly. Due to which the newborn becomes unable to pass stool, due to which waste material accumulates within the intestines.
Dr Viram Varshney explained that atresia ani is a congenital condition, which is the absence or closure of the anus. It poses a significant threat to the health and survival of newborn calves. This is a rare condition. Early detection is important to prevent serious complications and ensure the well-being of the affected animal.
